Naloxone Hydrochloride

Naloxone Hydrochloride is a pure opioid antagonist that acts as a competitive antagonist at mu, kappa, and delta opioid receptors, with the highest affinity for the mu receptor. It is used to rapidly reverse life-threatening respiratory depression caused by opioids.

Administer immediately in cases of suspected opioid overdose. For nasal spray, spray once into one nostril. For injection, administer 0.4 mg to 2 mg IM, SC, or IV. Repeat doses every 2 to 3 minutes if the patient does not respond or relapses into respiratory depression.
